वह काव्यांश, जिसका अध्ययन हिंदी की पाठ्यपुस्तक में नहीं किया गया है, अपठित काव्यांश कहलाता है। परीक्षा में इन काव्यांशों से विद्यार्थी की भावग्रहण-क्षमता का मूल्यांकन किया जाता है।
परीक्षा में प्रश्न का स्वरूप
परीक्षा में विद्यार्थियों को अपठित काव्यांश दिया जाएगा। उस काव्यांश से संबंधित पाँच लघूत्तरात्मक प्रश्न पूछे जाएँगे। प्रत्येक प्रश्न एक अंक का होगा तथा कुल प्रश्न पाँच अंक के होंगे।
अपठित काव्यांश हल करने की विधि :
* प्रश्नों के उत्तर काव्यांश के आधार पर ही दीजिए।
* सर्वप्रथम काव्यांश का दो-तीन बार अध्ययन करें ताकि उसका अर्थ व भाव समझ में आ सके।
* उत्तरों की भाषा सहज व सरल होनी चाहिए।
